  4. Keep the recovery code

Pond shows a recovery code. Write it down: it opens the vault the same way if you ever forget your code.

  5. Open Pond behind it

Next time, Pond opens as the calculator. Type your code and your vaults open at once, with no need to press equals.

Good to know

How each one opens

Calculator: type your code. Clock: set the timer wheels to your code. Weather: search for your word. Notes: type your phrase into Search.

It's a cover, not a vanishing act

The disguise changes Pond's icon and what it shows when it opens. Its name stays Pond, under the icon, in Settings and in the App Store.

Questions

What if I forget my disguise code?

Type your recovery code instead, the one you were shown when you set the disguise up. It opens the vault the same way.

Does the calculator really calculate?

Yes. It's a full calculator, so nothing looks unusual to anybody who uses it.

Why a disguise at all?

It's like a safe behind a painting: a vault that doesn't announce itself is one fewer thing to wonder about.
